Green Building: Straw Bale Construction |
| |
|
Straw bale building design is a practical
and perhaps under utilized construction method.
Initiated in the United States at the turn of the
century, straw bale is showing new merit in today's
marketplace. Combined with other green building
technologies such as green roofs, straw bale structures
have the promise to take some of the pressure off of
limited forest resources. The purpose of this forum is
to expose citizens, local permitting agencies, and the
development community on the technology, permitting
requirements, and benefits of straw bale construction
techniques. |
