Step 5 - Designing Your Rain Garden
Now that you have determined the
location
and size
of your rain garden you can begin to design it:
● Copy and increase the size of the school plan so that
every inch equals 10 feet (1” = 10’)
● Create a schematic drawing of the rain garden on a copy of
the school plan.

● Show where the water source comes into the rain garden
(bioswale, rain barrel hose, or where water sheets off of
sidewalk or parking lot)
